The Wedge Is Here To Stay
To say wedges are back in style isn’t exactly right because wedges have never really gone out of style. Created by Salavatore Ferragamo in 1936, the wedge grew in popularity in the early ‘40s. Depicting casual elegance and a classic cinema glamour, wedges are still incredibly popular today – particularly amongst today’s contemporary Rockabilly scene. The wedge proudly possesses a lovely blend of retro kitsch and contemporary styling, where a form-fitting leopard dress and sky high black wedges could just as easily be seen in the 1950s, as today.
In general, wedges are far easier to walk in than most other heels, but they do take a little getting used to because the higher the platform and angle the further you are from the ground. This may sound simplistic but it’s a good reminder to take your time when walking up or down stairs or taking curbs until you’re familiar with the shoes.
Of the classic wedge styles the cork heel is probably the most notable – followed by heels covered in twine and fabric, as well as heels made of rubber and plastic. Heels can range in thickness but the heel must run the entire length and width of the sole to be considered a proper wedge. As for straps, some wedges are slingbacks, others are slip ons and some have ties, straps or chords that wind multiple times around the ankle.
Whatever style or colour you choose, have confidence that the wedge is flattering to all. It is also stylish and versatile, and often far more comfortable and useful than most other heels.

Read MoreChoosing Lingerie for that Perfect Evening Dress
You found the perfect evening dress. It fits brilliantly. It’s precisely the colour you wanted. It’s the style that looks best on you, and you’re thrilled. Now to find the ultimate in magnificent but cheap lingerie to wear under it.
Your choices compose a cornucopia of options in colour, style, material and design.
For sleeveless or spaghetti-strap dresses, absolutely go for the strapless bras or body lingerie. Wired bracing gives the lift and support and helps the dress maintain its fantastic line.
For squared or scooped necks, watch the strap locations. Be sure to find a bra that straps close to your shoulder joint. There’s little that temporarily undermines confidence than a peeking bra strap as you move or reach.
For slinky, svelte, form-fitting dresses, avoid lingerie lines by avoiding elastic bands or straps if possible. Choose a body suit instead and present a uniformly smooth dress profile that makes people wonder just what you are wearing underneath that breath-taking dress you found.
Don’t forget the rest of your lingerie lower than the upper torso. Satin, silk or lace, provide yourself that bit of pampering to continue. Choose the Colour to match your bra and complement the ensemble in material. That slinky dress will glide much more easily over satin than it will cotton.
The dress may make the woman, but her lingerie makes her sexy.

Indoors or outdoors, platform bridesmaid shoes offer both elegance in appearance and comfort in wear.
The blending of subtly and style highlight this style of shoe. Sturdy soles slope from the heel to the platform toe box and grant abundant grace to the line of the shoe. The open toe design of the Ravel Knot Detail Platform Court shoe to the Dolcis Pearl Detail Slingback Sandal and others, the platform sole still provides a wide variety of styles and designs.
The Dolcis Corsage Peep Toe Platform shoes offer the distinctive sole style into a highly visible and remarkable design. The ivory version hints at pearl scrolling from the peep toe along the traditional sides to the closed heel. The corsage attached to the wrap-around ankle strap draws attention to the style’s magnificent grace and provides a bit of flair as well, topping its 10cm, stiletto heel.
The darker shoe presents a dramatic blend of light and dark grey, leopard-like design. The same platform toe base is topped by the peep toe, and the heel is promoted by the charcoal flower. The thin buckle sits atop the corsage and approaches a glimmering star complement to the design.
The Ravel Knot Detail Platform Court shoe simplifies its dramatic lines with smooth sides and a closed heel that rests atop the high, stiletto heel. The peep toe opening sits beneath a small knotted strap, giving the shoe its name. Choose either the black or the almost-magneta pink to match the wedding colour scheme.
Read MoreThe True Secret to Find Love
The truth is that yes there is a secret, and apparently a rather well kept one, to finding love. But the good news is, I am going to share it with you. I am going to tell you how anyone can find love. I simply ask that you have a little bit of faith, and a little bit of patience. The secret to finding love is not where to look, it is not how to look. The problem isn’t that you are looking in the wrong place, you aren’t dressing wrong, spending your money wrong, wearing the wrong clothes or any of those things that society would love to tell you is the problem.
If you would truly like to find love the first thing you must do is this, look inside yourself! If you have not learned to love you cannot begin to teach anyone else how to love you. The problem with society is that we teach others how we would like to be treated, but so many of us have such low self esteem that we don’t feel we deserve any better than the bare minimum. If you would like to find love the first secret is to look within, find love within yourself first and others will follow.
