Your choices compose a cornucopia of options in colour, style, material and design.

For sleeveless or spaghetti-strap dresses, absolutely go for the strapless bras or body lingerie. Wired bracing gives the lift and support and helps the dress maintain its fantastic line.

For squared or scooped necks, watch the strap locations. Be sure to find a bra that straps close to your shoulder joint. There’s little that temporarily undermines confidence than a peeking bra strap as you move or reach.

For slinky, svelte, form-fitting dresses, avoid lingerie lines by avoiding elastic bands or straps if possible. Choose a body suit instead and present a uniformly smooth dress profile that makes people wonder just what you are wearing underneath that breath-taking dress you found.

Don’t forget the rest of your lingerie lower than the upper torso. Satin, silk or lace, provide yourself that bit of pampering to continue. Choose the Colour to match your bra and complement the ensemble in material. That slinky dress will glide much more easily over satin than it will cotton.

The dress may make the woman, but her lingerie makes her sexy.

In these ever changing times, Pretty Polly is like, well, like a comfortable old pair of tights!  It’s a brand your mother used and has been around forever (well, since 1919 anyway) and to me at least, has always been synonymous with plain, no nonsense hosiery.  You find Pretty Polly everywhere, from supermarkets to your local village shop, you can rely on them for all your every day hosiery needs, although they might not be your first choice for rather more exciting leg apparel.  That was my opinion up until recently – how wrong I was!
